FOR GOODNESS

A hundred flowers, rooted in Jingdezhen: expressive porcelain for contemporary everyday life.

THE STUDIO

Founded in Jingdezhen in 2019, For Goodness approaches a long porcelain-making heritage through a contemporary eye. Its Chinese name, 一百朵花, means “a hundred flowers.” For the studio, Jingdezhen is the soil in which distinct ideas take root: no two flowers are exactly alike, yet each grows from a shared cultural ground.

The brand creates objects for modern life while remaining close to the physical work of making. Clay, hands and fire connect artistic expression with the familiar spaces of the home. Its ambition is to bring traditional Chinese sensibilities into everyday surroundings, finding emotional resonance in a considered form, an expressive surface and the small rituals of daily use.

THE PRACTICE

Working within Jingdezhen’s network of ceramic craftspeople, For Goodness develops vessels through a sequence of largely handmade processes. Form, glaze and surface decoration vary across its collections; some designs include gold or silver decoration. Small differences in handmade work reflect the materials and processes involved.

CARE

Hand wash gently with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid impacts, steel wool and abrasive cleaning tools. Some pieces have delicate gold, silver or other decorative details; follow the care guidance for the individual piece. Silver decoration can naturally tarnish over time; use a silver polishing cloth gently only where appropriate for that silver-decorated piece.
