Dark Knight Hand-Painted Ceramic Art Plate

Handmade and hand-painted in Jingdezhen by 刃间瓷叙 (Renjian Cixu), the Dark Knight ceramic art plate brings detailed figurative painting into a sculptural, tactile form.

A broad rim surrounds the central illustration. Its matte finish and irregular, radiating texture absorb light, while the glossy glazed center catches reflections. This contrast gives the plate two distinct surfaces: a textured frame and a luminous space for the painted figure.

The painted motif

An armored knight holds a long sword upright, its slender blade drawing the eye through the composition. Fine lines describe the patterned armor, layered cloak and helmet, while a thorn-like circular motif surrounds the head.

Rendered in muted, warm-toned linework against a dark ground, the figure has the detail and atmosphere of an old engraving. The still pose and vertical sword suggest vigilance and resolve, giving the image a solemn, contemplative presence.

Handmade in Jingdezhen

Renjian Cixu is a ceramic studio based in Jingdezhen, China. Its pieces are made and painted by hand, bringing together ceramic form and individually worked imagery. Small differences in brushwork, surface texture and glaze are part of the making process and give each piece its own character.

Display

Place the plate on a suitable display stand to appreciate the relationship between the textured rim and painted center. It works as a focal point on a shelf, console or cabinet, alongside books, sculpture or other collected objects.

Care

Hand wash gently with a soft sponge and mild detergent. Not dishwasher safe. Avoid abrasive cleaners, prolonged soaking, impact and sudden temperature changes. Dry carefully with a soft cloth.
