A garden in full bloom, painted across porcelain.
Hand-painted in Jingdezhen, this blue-and-white porcelain tea set takes its inspiration from the traditional Hundred Flowers motif—a richly layered composition in which many varieties of blossoms gather across the porcelain surface, creating an impression of abundance, vitality and continuous bloom.
Rather than treating the flowers as isolated decoration, the composition builds them densely together. Large blossoms, smaller petals, leaves and fine botanical lines overlap and flow into one another, creating the lush, animated character that defines the Hundred Flowers design.
The form is equally distinctive.
Both the gaiwan and presentation plate feature a sunflower-petal rim, a traditional Chinese vessel form characterized by an outward-opening floral silhouette. Instead of a flat circular edge, the rim rises and falls in articulated petal-like sections, giving the porcelain a sculptural profile when viewed from both above and from the side.
The presentation plate develops this idea further through pronounced radial fluting. Each section extends outward toward the petal-shaped rim, creating alternating ridges and recesses that catch the light and give the plate a strong sense of depth and rhythm.
Against this dimensional form, the intricate cobalt-blue flowers create a striking contrast: visually abundant yet restrained to the classic language of blue and white.
The lidded gaiwan echoes the same dense floral composition across its body and lid, while its elevated foot gives the vessel a graceful, architectural profile. The accompanying tasting cup completes the set in the same floral language.
Each piece is individually painted and kiln-fired in Jingdezhen. Variations in brushwork, cobalt tone, glaze and firing character are natural to the handmade process and give each set its own individual presence.
