THE STUDIO

Sanbahuo is a Jingdezhen ceramics studio led by a maker with a master’s degree in ceramic art and design, working together with their spouse. The studio focuses on original functional ceramics, treating the cup, plate and tea vessel as places where artistic expression can become part of daily life.

Its work brings floral and geometric imagery to textured clay bodies. Collections such as Floral Tale explore continuous, unfolding patterns, sometimes accompanied by gold accents. The character of the clay remains visible beneath this attention to detail. Rather than reserving handmade objects for special occasions, Sanbahuo makes pieces intended to accompany meals, tea and coffee, placing tactile surfaces and considered decoration within familiar routines.

THE PRACTICE

Hand forming, trimming and carving shape the studio’s functional ceramics. Floral and geometric patterns are worked into the clay, with its natural grain retained as part of the surface. Selected pieces receive gold decoration, balancing an earthy texture with finer accents.

CARE

Hand wash gently and avoid prolonged soaking. Do not use steel wool or abrasive tools on carved or gold-decorated areas. Handle with care and protect the pieces from knocks and falls.
